Understand the basics of Ludo

Make Ludo your next activity in the game library. Bring all four tokens home before the other players. Look at what changes after your first action. Read the objective before making your first input. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Play with two or four people on the same device. Follow the house rules shown on the board; internet matchmaking is not available.

One thing to notice as you play

When a decision goes wrong, compare it with the common mistake described below. Start again only when you intend to leave the current round. Make the next step deliberately.

Your goal

Bring all four tokens home before the other players. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Start with a deliberate move.

The steps to play

  1. Roll six to leave the yard.
  2. Move an eligible token by the die value; home requires an exact roll.
  3. Capture opponents on non-safe squares.
  4. Six, capture and finishing a token grant another roll; a third consecutive six forfeits that roll.

Making selections and moves

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. Read a button’s label before selecting it. A new-round button replaces the current round.

Put the rules into context

A token two steps from home cannot use a three. Apply the same reasoning to the position in your own round. Take a moment to compare.

Avoid this misunderstanding

Safe squares cannot capture; blockades are not part of this edition. Compare the situation with the worked example. Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules.
